The Party

As I mentioned in the previous post, yesterday we had a great party to celebrate my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. There to help celebrate were family from The Netherlands and many, many friends. It was a blast, so here are some pictures to share the fun. Also, a fun video of us singing to them after the toast, and then the presentation of our gift to them.

Happy 40th Anniversary to my parents! I am so thankful to have such amazing parents, that provide such an awesome example to us for marriage, how to be parents, and just enjoy life! I love you two so much and hope there are lots more anniversaries to celebrate!

Yesterday, we celebrated my parents anniversary with a wonderful party! (pictures to come later) Me, my siblings, our spouses, and our children all got together to give my parents a special gift for this anniversary. We had pictures taken of the 8 of us, and gave my parents one as a surprise. They were surprised and loved it! It was so hard to keep it a secret because we were all so excited about it! It was fun experience and now we have some beautiful pictures of our family! The pictures were taken by Lane Harris, of Lane Harris Photography...we highly recommend her, she was a blast to work with and took some gorgeous pictures! Of course I've posted a few of my favorites for you to see.

Isaac and Samantha

It is HOT outside! I am sure most of you know that, but I just thought I'd remind you. :) Isaac and I went swimming this morning to try to beat the heat. We went swimming with Jenny and Samantha, and we had a blast! Isaac loves the water, whether in his float or in my arms, he has fun! I got some cute pictures of the two, so I thought I'd share those with y'all. Also a fun story about Samatha...apparently last night Samantha was talking to her parents about marriage. Here's how the conversation went...

Her mom: "Who do you want to marry?"

Samantha: "You mom."

Her mom: "I am already married, you can't marry me."

Samantha: "Then I want to marry Daddy."

Her mom: "Daddy is already married to me. You can marry one of your boy friends."
Samantha: "Okay, I will marry Baby Isaac!"

I just think that is the sweetest thing! Samantha was listening in as Jenny told me this conversation...she got the biggest smile on her face when her mom said she would marry Baby Isaac. I told her she could marry Isaac, and that he would love to marry her!

Happy Father's Day! I hope every dad reading this had a fantastic day today, you deserve it! We had a nice day, with a little difficulty mixed in. We went to Clear Lake to visit Carl's grandma, who is in the hospital, and to visit with Carl's grandpa. It was great to see grandpa; he is such a special man! It was hard to see grandma in the hospital, but we have faith that God will heal her and she will be back to her wonderful self soon. Please keep her in your prayers, she needs healing. After visiting Grandma we went to lunch with Carl's parents, brother and girlfriend, Aunt Debra, and Grandpa. Then we went back to Grandpa's house for a nice visit.

We visited with my dad last night...they babysat Isaac for us so we could go out on a doubledate with friends. After dinner and the car show we all decided to go back to hang out with my parents. We had a fun time sharing stories and listening to funny music! They kept Isaac overnight for us, so Carl and I got to sleep in this morning! It was so great...thanks mama and papa!

Yesterday was a super fun day! Shane came over with the twins and we spent a few hours on the neighborhood lake. It was a fun and relaxing time! The boys really enjoyed the boat, driving it, and swimming in the lake. Isaac was not a fan of the sand on the beach area, but he sure loved just hanging out on the boat and "driving" it. Shane, Carl, and I had a lot of fun wakeboarding and skiing. We had the lake all to ourselves, so it was smooth as glass and we could get as many runs in as we wanted.

Random Note....it's raining!!! Yay! Oh how we needed the rain!

His new picnic table! He loves to sit at it, I think it makes him feel like a big boy. You can take the lid off and make it a water/sand table...pretty fun!

I sat down to write this post, but Isaac is just waking up from his nap, so it's going to be rather short. We gave him a picnic/water table for his birthday and he loves it! Here are a few pictures of him sitting at his table and playing on the patio. Why is that he had more fun with that empty box then with some of his toys? :)

He loves to be outside, so we spend a lot of time out there pushing around cars and playing in the grass.

My first blogging attempt...

Hello! I decided to move our website to a blog because I thought it would be easier to view pictures with the entries. Plus everyone else is doing it. :)

Thanks for visiting our blog, I hope this will be a fun way to share our fun times (hence the name Griffin Times). We are in one of the greatest times of our life right now, and I would love to share it with y'all!
