CG Games 2015

This past May I started working out with an organization called Camp Gladiator.  I was excited to find something that offered me a good work out, childcare, and was fun.  I had no idea in May that CG would change my life like it has.  I have found an amazing group of friends, who are a wonderful support system.  The kids have made friends, and have learned what it looks to work out, work hard, and see results.  I love that they come often come with me and see me pushing myself and see my dedication to staying fit and healthy.  Above all of this I have also refound (I'm not sure if that's a word) my passion for working out and discovered an even stronger passion for helping others improve their physical health. 

 

In June my trainer convinced me to sign up for the prelims for the CG Games.  I didn't really know what I was truly signing up for, but she made it sound fun, and she had so much faith in how well I could do, so I had to try.  I competed in the prelims in July here in our area.  It went really well.  Out of over 400 competitors I ended up 38th.  So I qualified for the CG  Games Finals in Austin!  Again, I didn't really understand what that meant, but I was excited to go for it.  I worked out hard, pushed myself harder than I have in years, adding in more running to my work outs, using heavier weights, and going to more work outs.  I did not know what to expect as far as events, so I didn't train for specific events, just tried to boost my muscular and cardiovascular endurance. 

 

 

I had a FANTASTIC cheering squad at the games, I am so thankful for their supoort!  I love these 4 more than words can express!

Mom and Dad came out to watch, they are some of my biggest fans, and their support means more to me than they will ever know.

 

This was me waiting for the last event to start...it was also the one I was the most intimidated by.  But I took my time, one step at a time, and finished it!

 

 

Hannah was my biggest cheerleader!  I love watching the video of me doing the last event because I can hear her cheering me on, "Goooo Mama, gooo!!!"  She and I go to CG together multiple times a week, and sometimes she has to play next to me as I work out.  So she sees my work outs first hand and has learned how to encourage me.  She is a joy!

 

The Games ended well.  My goal for the day was to complete it and still be able to walk.  It was an insane event, but it was so fun!  I ended up 25th out of 48, so I was happy!  The next day my ENTIRE body was sore and bruised, but it was so worth it.

 

 

We camped with Oma and Opa to make the trip more family friendly and fun!  It was our first camping trip with them, and of course we all loved it!

Bye Bye Crib

 

Our princess is growing up!  This past September we decided it was time to transition Hannah from her crib to a big girl bed.  She's been asking for a while, but we were hesitant.  We weren't ready for the battle that we thought would come with her having more freedom.  But since she was 3 and a half we knew it was beyond time.  Hannah was thrilled with her new bed!  It's a perfect bed for her sweet room.  I had a hard time though, it is the first time in 7.5 years that we don't have a crib in the house.  That makes me sad...plus I just love that crib.  It's a part of life though, my babies are growing up, we are entering a new and exciting season in our life.

 

Hannah did great in her new bed!  She stayed in bed at night, never fought us or gave us any trouble.  She's a big girl and we are so proud of her!

May 2015 Gymnastics Showcase

 

Marching in...Luke was supposed to have a soccer game, but it got rained out, so he joined in on the showcase instead!  He was so excited, and Isaac was thrilled to have Luke with him.

 

It also happened to be Luke's birthday!

 

Every participant got to stand on the podium and get a medal.  Since it was Luke's birthday they sang Happy Birthday to him.

It was a super fun day and a great introduction to a gymnastics meet.  We've got some gymnasts in the family!

Preschool!

 

Hannah started preschool (two days a week) this fall and she was beyond excited about this new adventure!  She had to wait two weeks after the boys' first day before her first day, and gosh that was tough.  But we made it, and by day 1 she was more than ready!  She woke up that morning ready to go!  She ate her breakfast super fast, and then immediately after she put her backpack on with her pajamas.  It was so cute!  I walked her in to school that morning because I wasn't ready to just leave her in carline.  She walked right into her room, hung up her bag, and went off to play.  She was not a bit sad or hesitant.  I'm so thankful that she was so excited and ready to go!

 

When I picked her up after her first day she was so happy and told me all about it with a HUGE smile on her face.  Our baby girl is not a baby any more.  *tear*

Update...

Since I'm so far behind on blogging I figured I'd just update how she's been doing.  She is still loving school!  She would go everyday if we let her!  She has made some friends, she loves all of her teachers, and she is learning a lot.  Her teacher is the sweetest and Hannah adores her.  We had a conference last week, she was very happy with how Hannah's been doing.  She said she is one of the youngest in the class, but you'd never guess that by her behavior or ability to follow along with the lessons.  She said Hannah is a helpful friend, and she shares well with her peers.  What more could a mama ask for from a 3 year old?

I am thankful Hannah is loving school, I pray she always finds joy in learning and going to school.
