Isaac's Valentine's Gift to Carl

Isaac and Carl have a sweet thing going with Carl's coffee mug...Isaac always has to hold it and say, "Oooh Hot!" He has expanded it to anyone's coffee mug, but it started with Carl and he does it daily. So for Valentine's Day I took Isaac to make Carl a new coffee mug with Isaac's handprint and famous saying. I figured it would be a great way to always remember this sweet interaction. Unfortunately, the mug took forever to be finished, so we gave it to Carl a little late, and I am even slower about getting it on the blog. I just had to share though because it is a special memory for all of us.

Isaac's latests...

Isaac is growing so fast and developing such an adorable personality! I wanted to take a minute to share some of the fun things that have happened around here the last few days...

  • Isaac loves playing peek-a-boo! He will cover his eyes, hold this for what seems like forever, then uncover his eyes and yell, "BOO!" This is always followed by a big laugh and then, "Mama, Boo!" or "Daddy, Boo!" He even played peek-a-boo with Carl when Carl was out of town...they played while talking on the phone, and that was just as fun for Isaac!
  • Hide and seek is his second favorite game, well it's more just hiding! Ha! He runs off, usually when he knows I want him to do something, and he hides in a random room or closet, often in the dark! He then lays down or sits quietly until we come find him. Once we find him he busts out laughing!
  • Copy cat continues to be a favorite thing for him, too! I have realized that this could start to get him/us in trouble. Today while waiting in line to check out at the grocery store the lady in front of us realized she forgot something. She turned around and sighed really loud as she raced past us to go get the item. Isaac immediately imitated her, "UGH!" I think he did it 3 times in a row! I was embarrassed, hoping she didn't hear, but also found it pretty humorous! I am not sure how to teach him when imitating is not nice and when it is okay. Hhhhmmm...I guess we'll figure that out with time.
  • Pray! Isaac loves to pray! He asks to pray many times each day, always a few times during meals and also randomly throughout the day. Today he wanted to pray while swinging outside. I love this new fascination, I hope it is something that grows with him as he grows...we all know how important daily prayer is in life! Whenever he asks to pray, I say, "Who do we pray to?" And he responds, "Jesus!" Then we say, thank you, or love you, or whatever is appropriate at that time. Finished with, "Amen." (which he says pretty well!) Every night before bed I hold him and pray, and I end with, "In Jesus name, Amen." He always says Amen with me, right in sync! Such sweet moments that I want to remember forever!
  • Yesterday we had some snow, which was beautiful, even though it didn't stick. It came down really thick for a while, so Isaac got to see it really well. It started during his nap, so when he woke up I opened up his curtain for him to see it, he quickly learned to say snow, although it sounds more like no. We went out and took a few pictures, but didn't stay out to play since it wasn't sticking and it was so cold! This morning during breakfast he looked out the window, as the sun was shining so brightly, and said, "Light on!" He was very excited to see the light outside, I told him that was the sun. I guess he missed it while it was gone the last few days.

Isaac imitating Carl

I have mentioned before that Isaac likes to imitate how Carl walks, he does this at least a few times everyday. It is so funny and so cute! The other day I managed to get a picture of him copying Carl (Carl was standing at the window looking outside with his hands behind his back). I just had to share these pictures, enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day!

YUM, pancakes!!!

Carl making the pancakes...delicious!

Happy Valentine's Day! We hope you all had a sweet day shared with the ones you love. We had a wonderful day; which we spent at church, with friends, with family, a lunch date just me and Carl, and then a yummy pancake dinner with more family! Family and friends, the ones you love, that's what Valentine's Day is all about! I have to brag about our yummy pancake dinner because we made heart shaped pancakes in honor of the day, and they were so cute and delicious! Thank you Carl for being our pancake chef! Isaac loved his pancakes, and having his Emmy, Gumby, and Cameron there with us made it even better! =)

Look what I learned today...

Today I bought Isaac a placemat with a map of the USA on it, with the goal of teaching him the states. Some people, who will remain unnamed, thought I was crazy for thinking he could do this. Well, Isaac proved his intelligence. ;-) He has learned five already, and loves doing it. Check out the video.

Bath Time and Belly Laughing

Tonight Isaac had the best time in the bathtub, and he had Carl and I laughing so hard! He has recently discovered how to open and close the drain. Tonight he somehow made the drain make a toot sound; he thought it was hilarious! He did it over and over, belly laughing every time. That belly laugh is contagious, we were laughing with him! I can't get enough of my little guy, and watching him learn new things is one of the biggest joys, even if he is learning to laugh at toot sounds (I know that's inevitable).

Random Pictures

Here are two random pictures from the last couple of days. The first is one from his playdate today with TayTay. We had a great time playing, and the two of them are getting so big. The second is one of Isaac in his new adorable jammies (I love them) playing with his bike.
